Getting around

The closest airport to Tulum is Cancun International Airport.

Cancun has direct flights from most major cities in the UK, Europe and the USA.

We recommend you use an airport transfer upon landing.

Tulum is about an hour and forty minutes from Cancun Airport

And if it is your first time driving here it is best not trying this after a long flight!

A good way to get around is to hire a car. (parking in Tulum's beach area is pricey!)

Avis location in downtown Tulum is pretty close to the Flats.

Driving in Mexico is a bit "different" to driving in the UK (wrong side on the road to begin with) or the US (less rules)

So if you do decide to hire a car be alert!!

Hertz has two locations in Tulum. we recommend the downtown one.

Cycling

We will have some bikes for you to use at the flats,  we strongly suggest you bring your own helmets!

Aldea Zama is great for cycling and you can also get to the beach this way.

There is also a good cycling route in the Sian Kaan natural reserve.

Taxis

When you are not stuck in Tulum traffic, you will experience what it feels like to be a passenger in a subcompact rally car... Buckle up!

Taxis can be flagged down and some of them even have WhatsApp details.

Always ask for the fare in advance. cash only.

(no uber here)
